Purpose

Forestry professionals and landowners (private and industrial) in the Southeast are increasingly interested in managing forestland to enhance habitats for wildlife species. This course aims to provide technical information on specific techniques used to enhance and preserve wildlife habitat on forested land. Topics will include managing forest stands for wildlife and timber, managing for white-tailed deer and game bird species in the Southeast, techniques for controlling predator populations, things to consider when planting food plots and other wildlife plantings, and other principles and applications of wildlife-habitat and forest management techniques.

 

Who Will Benefit?

Private and state foresters, loggers, members of forestry associations, forestry and wildlife professionals (consultants and managers), forest landowners interested in wildlife management on their lands, realtors, and wildlife biologists.
