Insects and Diseases
Forests contain diverse insect communities. Native insect herbivores, predators, omnivores, and pollinators all provide important ecosystem services that promote healthy forests. However, some native and invasive insects can cause problematic tree damage and are considered pests. These pest insects can cause both economic and ecological damage.
